Meet Tarquin our Online Advice Helper.

Tarquin is here to help

With the help of Southampton City Council and our friends at Dover and Deal Citizens Advice we are pleased to launch our online service.

Tarquin as we have named him will ask a series of questions in relation to your advice need. He will then guide you to the relevant information. Our partners in the national Citizens Advice service have a huge amount of support available on their website - everything from advice on applying for benefits, to topping up a pre-payment meter.  Tarquin will help you navigate to the right advice for the problem you are facing.

With the demand for our service increasing month on month, it is important to the team here at Citizens Advice Southampton to be doing all we can to provide the community of Southampton with advice when they need it.

Tarquin doesn't replace our volunteers or staff, he adds capacity to our work and will enable many people to self source the information that is relevant to them.

If Tarquin is unable to support you to resolve your issue he will guide you to our advice line number for additional support.

Our Chief Officer, Chris Dixon, commented.

At a time where the cost of living crisis continues to impact so many people it is important that we are able to support or signpost them to the advice and support that is needed. Our BOT Tarquin will enable us to do this and add a lasting capacity to our work.
