Libby Szabo, R-Arvada, was elected to three terms in the Colorado General Assembly. While in the legislature, Mrs. Szabo served as House Assistant Minority Leader in the Colorado General Assembly.

Libby and her husband of 30 years, Denes, are Colorado natives. They have deep roots in Jefferson County, where they have raised four children: Angel, Jessy, Nissa, and Karly.

The Szabos own a family business that has been in operation for more than 40 years.  As a business owner and working mother, Libby knows what it takes to stretch a tight budget and to make ends meet, both at work and at home.  Particularly with her experience in the mortgage lending and financial services industry,  Libby understands the impact that public policy can have on businesses and working families.

In January 2015, Libby Szabo was appointed to fill a vacancy in Jefferson County’s District 1 Commissioner position.

Libby is passionate about making a positive difference. Like many mothers, she is active in her community, coaching youth sports and volunteering at her church. Libby has also been involved in grassroots politics since she first registered to vote more than two decades ago.
